"Get in the shower NOW!"
I sternly said through snot and sneezing,
As I learned that my son and his friends got into the Ant Killer Spray my husband left on the deck.
Allergies blazing like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, I had enough of this day.
CLUNK.
"Son of a..."
The Muskoka chair my husband was building came apart as he tried to lift it up.
I ran over to him, blood running down his head.
This is a hairy, scary, antsy, very bad day.
We all survived with our limbs intact,
But this blood moon that my earthy healer friends talk about, was showing itself to us.
I found it really hard to put my positive pants on yesterday.
And that's OK.
It's OK to call it what it was.
It's OK that you don't have the most perfect Instagram story every single day.
The problem with putting on your positive pants ALL. THE. TIME,
Is that you stuff your real feelings down deeper when you come across a crappy day.
Now I'm not saying you should be walking around complaining, whining, crying, angry, disgusted,
And taking it out on everyone around you,
But I am saying it's OK to not find MEANING in everything that happens to us.
You don't have to immediately crack a smile and find the silver lining.
Perhaps, the right question is,
What are you going to DO with this information now that you've identified with it.
Next time I go into a bush to pick blueberries at the farm, I'll take some meds before hand.
I'll put less things on the honey do list and hubby has to know to stop when he's tired.
And we can't continue to be the neighbourhood baby sitter 24/7 when we're gardening,
As the kids decide to run in and out of our backyard 100 times and Eric and I are always looking after all of them.
Perhaps, it's time to start asking for some help.
There's no REASON all this happened, but there are some choices we can make moving forward.
When's the last time you had a no, good, very bad day?
Did you identify with it and make some different choices?
