A one woman musical journey about self love and breaking generational abuse.
Told through the eyes of the main character, Luna, it’s a battle between her Inner Shame and Inner Warrioress to step into her big britches and stop trying to make herself smaller to be loved. After a barrage of text messages from her mother, and almost being wiped out by a transport truck, Luna finds herself questioning everything about her life and how she got there.
Journey through her life of heartbreak, bullying, eating disorders, mental health, and coming out of the darkness of generational trauma to finding her light.
25 characters, 7 original songs. It’s truth and triumph for anyone who has ever felt lost, unimportant, or disregarded.

I was blown away by this performance. Every character was so distinct, there was no question when one character ended and another began. I laughed so hard and also fought back tears during this performance. The songs and acting were Broadway level and this is a show that needs to be seen on a huge stage. Well done!! Since seeing your performance, I have told every single person I encounter that it is a “not to be missed” performance. I even texted a few friends I haven’t been in contact with in months just because I knew they shouldn’t miss it! I can’t even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed the show… I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The brilliant and sometimes subtle ways you alert the audience to a character change was mesmerizing… the transitions were incredible… the performance was so flawless… your timing SO exceptional… that I was certain you had performed the play countless times. I was gobsmacked when you told us in the parking lot that what we had just witnessed was only your seventh performance. It really is baffling how the world tries to keep us small. Like that ‘Gopher Game’ in carnivals where you take a mallet and bonk peeking heads of gophers back in their holes. Lisa’s dueling personalities, ‘Warrioress’ and ‘Shame’ are in all of us as we grow and develop to discover who we are. Most of us can relate to the narcissistic parent whom we can never get approval from. Lisa is more than triple threat! Playwright, Acting, Song writer, Singing, AND Dancing? She needs a bigger theatre!

A very brave, honest and inspiring show. Our parents that are supposed to be our guiding lights do not always come properly equipped with the life tools we need to help us solve our problems, and when their toxic behavior is in fact at the root of many of our problems, it can be quite a journey to overcome them. This show takes us on that journey, and shows us the light at the end of the tunnel!

I loved Lisa’s transformations from character to character and back again, her commitment to facing the hard parts of the story head on, yet with compassion and the incredible music that anchors the play. A moving journey. Lisa commands the stage with her chameleon-like transformations. Extremely relatable, devastating and hilarious. Pulls no punches. A frank, playful and nakedly honest odyssey.

I loved EVERYTHING. OMG! Her movements were precise. Her characters were well-defined. Her story was well-paced and since it was about her personal journey to self-love, I thought Lisa really nailed highlighting the exact right parts to get her story across. No moment felt wasted or extraneous. The whole show was so polished and powerful. This story is sure to touch many, many hearts. If you need a self-love pick-me-up, THIS SHOW IS FOR YOU. Easily one of the top 3 best solo performances at the festival-no question. I still cannot believe Lisa is a first time performer & writer; she commands the stage and pen like a seasoned pro. Her message of self love starting from a child to present day is so inspiring. The idea of self love is lacking in our society and very needed right now. I hope as many female identifying people can see this show as possible! I LOVED her music and use of a live accompanist. Her piano player offered so much dynamic support to the production. I loved her theatrical portrayal of “Shame” and “Warrioress” contrasting with her central, realistic character of Luna and her Therapist character-this created excellent conflict and tension.

The entire show was well written and performed, her songs were so incredible and beautifully integrated into the story-lines. Lisa’s voice is so powerful and beautiful to listen too, I found myself singing along and getting lost in the moment which was a wonderful experience.
She kept my attention the entire show, I couldn’t keep my eyes off of her as she weaved in and out of characters and took me along the journey, so captivating.
The message behind the show was very impactful, a lot of people struggle and this show brings some hard truths to light. Not an easy task bringing hard topics to the forefront and in a way that in inspiring and heart felt. I can’t wait to see where this show goes, everyone needs to see it! This show needs a bigger stage and a soundtrack!

FINALLY a solo show actor who actually embodies each character FULLY! It’s a tough job, but Pezik is up to the task.
And the songs she sings aid her in conveying her message of self-love… and reminding the audience that being “Too Big for your Britches” can be a GOOD thing.

A beautifully honest, brave and vulnerable piece about having the courage and wisdom to finally love and accept ourselves. Lisa is 100% committed to every character, as she explores very personal and challenging moments of her past. Finally, through lots of inner work, she discovers true love in herself and in her life mate. Her songs are great, physicality and vocal quality of each of her many characters, and it is very cleverly staged. It’s funny, poignant, and beautifully written. A beautiful reminder to all of us that fully loving ourselves is why we are here. Congrats Lisa!!

Lisa Pezik’s journey of self-love and mental health awareness through her character Luna is powerful, and at the same time subtle. Though her story is undeniably hers, with her own personal experiences, it is one so many people can relate to in these times where connection is so important. The original songs and live accompaniment were dynamic. And Lisa’s willingness to share the truths of her story, scars and all, are unforgettable.

This was a fully embodied performance. What must have taken tremendous work to craft looks effortless as Lisa weightlessly transforms from character to character and buoyantly moves thru this triumphant performance.
In Too Big for Her Britches, Lisa reveals the heavy hurts of childhood and adulthood, revealing the wounded self with a lightness that allows us to travel with her without burden. Ultimately, we can all celebrate the grand accomplishment of healing work that Lisa guides us through.I especially loved the therapy scenes, both the ones that didn’t work and then the ones that did. I loved seeing how the transformation fast tracked once Luna found a good healer to support her.

This show is a masterpiece of Solo Theater. Lisa pours her heart out on the stage. Loved it all. She fully embodies the characters. The audience experiences a full range of emotions. Her original songs add to the overall story. An amazing story with a message to everyone. Lisa’s show is an inspiration.
Meet The Team
Lisa Pezik
Playwright, Actor, Co-lyricist
Lisa Pezik is a brand strategist, content marketer, playwright, solo theater artist, songwriter and former RN and Fitness Instructor, making her world premiere of her first solo show Too Big For Her Britches.As an official SELECTION in Solofest, Lisa is premiering in LA and will also be performing in Hollywood Fringe and United Solo. United Solo is an off Broadway debut at the prestigious Theatre Row off 42nd Street in New York city.
Lisa is no stranger to storytelling. She’s a professionally trained speaker having presented her stories and strategies in Canada, the US, and the UK, as well as writing two #1 International Best-Selling Books. Later this year, Lisa is stepping onto a larger stage with TEDx and will be featured in a major movie production that she can’t disclose at this time.
Prior to her agency and theater work, Lisa has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the York College of Pennsylvania where she worked as an Intensive Care Nurse, Palliative Care Specialist, Director of Nursing, and Nurse Educator. She also has an extensive background in wellness as an ACE Certified Fitness and Nutrition Specialist, Youth Specialist, and a Pain Free Movement Specialist.
Lisa is a dual citizen of the US and Canada and her greatest joy is her family. Her husband Eric, and her son Oliver Kai. When she’s not performing or running the agency, she’s taking care of their small herd of two dogs, two cats, and Oliver’s favorite, two pet rats.

garnered many awards, including SELECTION for Solofest, the largest solo performance festival on the West Coast, SELECTION by United Solo NYC for OFF BROADWAY performance, two-time ENCORE AWARD WINNER and BEST ACTOR nominee for the Hollywood Fringe Festival and two-time SELECTION for the prestigious and international LA Women’s Theatre Festival.
Heather is also the co-creator, producer and lead of the comedy series Down The Middle, featuring Tom Bergeron, currently on the festival circuit. Her most recent television recently appearance was on NBC’s This Is Us.

Jessica Lynn Johnson is a published playwright, recipient of BEST NATIONAL SOLO ARTIST AWARD, Advisory Board Member of the LA Women’s Theatre Festival, Director for Whitefire Theatre, and Founder & CEO of Soaring Solo Studios. Jessica has aided in the development of over 100 solo shows (and still going strong)! As a performer, Jessica has “edu-tained” international audiences touring her own one person shows ZE and OBLIVIOUS TO EVERYONE for over 15 years.Jessica’s projects have taken home awards such as TOP OF FRINGE, HFF ENCORE PRODUCER AWARDS, TVOLUTION BEST SOLO PERFORMANCE, LARRY CORNWALL AWARD FOR MUSICAL EXCELLENCE & several other accolades! Jessica was also nominated for the Female Director of Distinction in Theatre by Girl Trip LLC at the 2018 Hollywood Fringe Festival.

Drew Lawrence

Drew Lawrence is a multiplatinum songwriter and producer. His song “Jar of Hearts,” co-written and performed by Christina Perri, was an international smash. Drew’s songs have been recorded by worldwide major label artists including Leona Lewis, The Backstreet Boys, Lea Michele,
Shane Filan (Westlife), Stinaj, Jaira Burns and many more. He has contributed songs to albums for Lindsey Stirling, Madilyn Bailey, Chris Jamison (The Voice) and Fede Le Grand, which all charted on the Billboard Hot 200.
Drew is also a recording artist and tours the country with his group “The Dales.”
Pamela Najera Michael
Dance Choreographer
Pamela Najera Michael, originally, from the Philippines journeyed to the United States in 1979. Practically, a California native, Pamela was formerly a full time medical assistant and switched professions at 35.
She danced professionally with a background in jazz, ballet, and hip-hop forover 15 years. Pamela has found true satisfaction in being of service to herfellow solo-artists in designing a ‘uniquely-you’ choreography fit for any levelof dance or none at all. Pamela also wrote, produced, and performed in herown one-woman-show, TOO OLD TOO ASIAN TOO SHORT.
