I love the saying,
"Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional."
As I've been craving rest and play in my day lately.
It's in these creative breaks that I find myself.
I don't take my body or my business too seriously,
And I just enjoy what my body and brain can do.
I don't want to get to the end of my life and say,
"And this was for what?"
There is nothing worse than building it, standing at the top, looking down,
And realizing it didn't bring you the happiness that you wanted in the first place.
My days have been spent a bit differently lately.
Instead of the grind, its been more about grit and grace.
I've been seriously simplifying and here's how.
G- Getting on with it. The past is the past. No need to re-live it, re-harsh it. This too DID pass.
R- Realize your gifts of service. You're really good at something, and you enjoy it. Go do more of that.
I- Imagine the Possibilities. Instead of thinking about gloom and doom, manifest greatness. Think of it like it already happened.
T- Trust the Process. Isn't not about if you fly or fail. You will do both. Are you willing to fail over and over again to fly?
**************************
G- Get moving. Every day, I run or do yoga, or kickbox, or lift, or hike. If you don't use it, you lose it.
R- Read. For pleasure, for business. Whatever you like. Keep your brain waves moving.
A- Add one new veggie a week to your food plan. Leeks, Radishes, Bok Choy, these have been my go to lately.
C- Create. Blog, Podcast, Go Live, Write, Color, Paint, Sculpt, Draw. You have talents. Share them.
E- Engage with others. Call a friend, get out for lunch, write a letter, send a card, hug your family deeper.
Don't overcomplicate the simple things in life.
Slow down and enjoy.
You have time.
Spend it wisely.
