6 months after our son, Oliver, was born, I went on TV.
Online business has always been my jam.
Before the days of Beachbody on Demand, I was one of the only trainers in our local area that was offering online workouts.
And the local TV station got wind of it.
So there I was, postpartum, post C-section, post traumatic birth, but still doing my thing and in my element on TV.
Some people fear the camera. Fear the stage. Fear the live video-- I LOVE IT!
I felt GREAT after my segment, so naturally when it aired and then posted online, I watched it.
And there it was.
The little gleaming comment,
"She's a nurse and trainer??? I'm sorry, but shouldn't she LOOK more fit?"

Ouch

That hurt.
This is the part where I'm supposed to tell you that I fluffed it off, or better yet, cursed her existence or called her a hater.
But I didn't.
I cried. Hard.
And I questioned.
Am I cut out for this?
Who am I to be on TV talking health and fitness when I'm still 30-40lbs overweight.
Should I wait until I'm more "fit looking?"
I kept doing my thing.
Kept shooting videos, kept teaching and training, stayed on my path.
I've since moved on in my career as an entrepreneur. As a business strategist, speaker, and writer, I often think how that scenario impacted me.
It's why I'm so passionate about helping entrepreneurs find their voice, create their offerings, and get in front of people.
Because there is a cost if you quit.
Not only to you, but to all the people who need YOU.
I realized after a lot of soul searching, and who am I kidding, a lot of wine, that I don't need validation to create.
And 2 years later when I went back on TV, a different station, 60lbs lighter, talking about my book, I didn't check the comment section.
Not once.
But even if I didn't lose the weight. I still wouldn't check.
As a teacher, inspirer, healer, creator, entrepreneur you only need 3 things:
1. Information
The who, what, when, where, why of your business. Who are you, what do you know, what outcome do you get people, and why should they choose you?
2. Internet Site
Whether it's a website, funnel, or social media outlet, you must have a way for your message to get to the masses, or better yet, that one person who desperately needs you (and you don't have to be available to tell them about point number 1 above). Let the site do the preliminary work for you, so you get to deliver.
3. Inactivity Buster
You need necessity.
When I didn't want to put myself out there, I thought of my son, and I didn't like the answer I'd have to give him one day about why I quit on my dreams. So I got back out there.
What's going to pull you through when you want to quit?
It better be something from within. Because something from the outside you can't control.
So create, launch, go live, put your goods out there.
Keep creating AND LAUNCHING because that fire in your gut tells you that you have to.
